​YUI TAKANO

Yui Takano is born in Kumamoto, Japan, just graduated Chelsea college of Arts, Textile design (BA) course in 2017.

日本は熊本生まれ。2011年にニューヨークに渡航。２年間英語とアートを学びながら、アメリカの色々なカルチャーを体感した後、2013年ロンドンに移動。2017年ロンドンのチェルシーカレッジ・オブ・アーツを卒業後、少し旅を経て帰国。

She is always interested in a story of objects, animals, or people etc in behind. Maybe it is because she was grown by mother who are running children's book store, so this environment gives her plenty of time to read children's books and stories when she was a child while waiting her mum's work or even at her home.

物や動物、人の持つルーツやストーリーに関心があり、そこに物語を創ることが作品をつくる上でのキーになっている。母親が幼い頃に絵本屋を始め、母の仕事を待つ間、一人で物語を読むことが多かった。それも作品とストーリーの結びつきのきっかけとなっている。

Also she traveled developing countries and studied social issue. And had to face to thmental health care and health care. This experiences affect on her works.  
10代の頃はボランティアと称した海外渡航を何度か経験し、他の国が持つ社会問題を勉強した。その現場に行って、本人達から直接話を聞いたり、そこから派生するヘルスケア、メンタルヘルスケアについて考えさせられた。滞在中にはできる手伝いをし現地の人達と共に過ごした。

So she is in between fantasy world and the practical problems. From the fantasy mind she puts a story or narrative in behind on her works but also trying tell some message to audience. And it is also affect on the visual as cute but eerie.

物語の持つファンタジーと現実世界で起こる問題を体感する間に、相反する世界の入り交じり合いが作品のテーマや世界観になっていった。
